Baseball Recap: Innovation's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Innovation's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Liberty Chargers a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bulls, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Seiby Osorio looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Innovation let Camilo Colina and Luis Rodriguez run wild. Colina went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Rodriguez scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Innovation is undefeated when Rodriguez posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tyler Nunez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Innovation was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win snapped Innovation's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-5 record. As for Liberty, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Innovation will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Nona at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Lake Nona has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Liberty, they will take on Gateway at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
