Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Christian Eagles vs. Prior Lake Christian Royals

Liberty Christian is a perfect 3-0 against Prior Lake Christian since December of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Liberty Christian Eagles will challenge the Prior Lake Christian Royals at 1:45 p.m. Liberty Christian has given up an average of 52.1 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Liberty Christian is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against St. Francis Christian back in February (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Liberty Christian was outmatched by St. Francis Christian and fell 75-48. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 233rd in Wisconsin, while the Patriots are ranked 105th in Minnesota).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Prior Lake Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 63-50 to Rochester Area HomeSchool.

Liberty Christian will need to focus on slowing down Elijah Wilson, one of several Prior Lake Christian players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 27 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Wilson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Morgan, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Liberty Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Prior Lake Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-12.

Liberty Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Prior Lake Christian when the teams last played back in February, winning 56-45. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Wilson, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
