Basketball Game Preview: Columbia River Rapids vs. Lynden Lions

Having just played yesterday, the Columbia River Rapids will jump right back in to play the Lynden Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Columbia River is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They snuck past Port Angeles with a 38-33 win.

Meanwhile, Lynden put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Bainbridge 54-26. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Spartans are ranked 67th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lynden pushed their record up to 25-0 with the victory, which was their 27th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Columbia River, their win bumped their record up to 20-4.

Columbia River ended up a good deal behind Lynden when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 50-34. Can Columbia River avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
