Baseball Game Preview: Longmont Trojans vs. Skyview Wolverines

The Longmont Trojans will square off against the Skyview Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Skyview took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Longmont, who comes in off a win.

Longmont is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Thomas Jefferson 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.

The team relied heavily on Collin Pool, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Logan Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Skyview had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 14-0 to Fort Morgan on Saturday. The Wolverines have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meetings.

Skyview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Rodriguez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Longmont took their win against Skyview in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-5. Does Longmont have another victory up their sleeve, or will Skyview turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
