Basketball Recap: North Forsyth Falls Despite Big Games from Kerry Smith and Drahcir Williams

If North Forsyth was feeling good fresh off their 73-34 takedown of Forbush two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The game between the North Forsyth Vikings and the Elkin Buckin' Elks didn't end well, with the North Forsyth Vikings falling 60-45. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buckin' Elks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Despite the defeat, North Forsyth had strong showings from Drahcir Williams, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds, and Kerry Smith, who posted 18 points and six rebounds.

North Forsyth dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Elkin, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.

North Forsyth didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-47 victory against Atkins on the 6th. As for Elkin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-43 defeat against Wilkes Central on the 3rd.
