Recap: Stagg Delta Kings vs. Linden Lions
The Stagg Delta Kings fell victim to the Linden Lions''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 35-0 defeat at the hands of the Lions. Stagg's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Leanos Rhonesimo threw for 139 yards on eight of 24 attempts. Jayden Moses was his top target, picking up 66 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
Linden can attribute much of their success to Landen Ly, who rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Ly's longest rush was for an incredible 82 yards. Jay Reams made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Stagg has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Linden, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2.
Stagg will challenge Chavez at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Chavez is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Linden, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Weston Ranch at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Weston Ranch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 731st, while Linden is ranked 333rd).
