Volleyball Recap: Capital Comes Up Short

Capital lost against Parkersburg back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cougars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Big Reds.

Capital was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 14 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14.

Korri Marin paced Capital's offense, picking up five kills. Marin got some help from Jada Fruit and her six assists. Fruit was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Brenan Harvey had a dynamite game For Parkersburg., getting 11 digs and five aces. Bella Bowman also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Capital dropped their record down to 13-24-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Parkersburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-16-2 record this season.

Capital didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Spring Valley on the 25th. As for Parkersburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 1-1 draw against South Charleston on the 25th.
