Football Recap: Center Grove Starts off Right with Win over Warren Central

Center Grove had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past the Warren Central Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 24-6. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won nine in a row.

Nolan Rees was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 139 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 139 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Rees was just one part of a punishing run game: Center Grove was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 245 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren Central only rushed for 150 rushing yards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Center Grove will face off against Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Warren Central, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Warsaw at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
