Basketball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Newton extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were outmatched by the Eisenhower Tigers and fell 73-45. The Railroaders were down 51-27 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

As for Eisenhower, the victory got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Eisenhower was led to victory by Cooper Rohr and Owen Stanberry. Rohr went 7-for-13 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds, while Stanberry shot 63% from the field en route to 19 points along with six boards and three steals. Stanberry continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Romari Howard was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton will take on South in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eisenhower, they will be home for the holidays to greet Andover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
