Basketball Recap: Lucas Wallace Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Covenant

Covenant Christian won against Cistercian last Friday with 64 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Covenant Christian Cougars walked away with a 64-52 win over the Covenant Knights. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Covenant Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucas Wallace, who posted 13 points and five assists. Wallace has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Aaron Turner was another key player, putting up 18 points and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Covenant Christian and bumps their season record up to 6-10. As for Covenant, they moved to 17-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Covenant Christian Cougars duke it out with the Coram Deo Academy Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Covenant Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season. As for Covenant, they will venture away from home to face off against Prince of Peace at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
