Softball Recap: Valley Gets the Win

Valley barely beat Urbandale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers never let the J-Hawks get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the J-Hawks: they've now won three in a row.

Maddison Zlomke was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. Zlomke was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Addy Ballard was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kari Rose, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Coming up, Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Urbandale, they will head out to challenge Des Moines East at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
