Bayfield had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed by the Aztec Tigers on the road to the tune of 41-7. For the Wolverines, this counts as revenge for the 28-22 defeat the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2023.

Leading Bayfield to victory were Cole Mcwhirter and Lincoln Williams. Mcwhirter threw for 355 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, while Williams gained 136 total yards and two touchdowns. Williams was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 55 yards. 86 of those passing yards were hauled in by Tyler Harriman, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Bayfield's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged four passes before it was all said and done. Williams led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.
