Basketball Recap: Calais Find Success

Calais won the last time they faced Sumner and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Calais Blue Devils had just enough and edged the Sumner Tigers out 59-56.

Calais is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Sumner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calais will welcome Jonesport-Beals at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Calais has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Sumner, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Machias at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
