Softball Recap: Tipton Takes a Loss

Tipton's last matchup with Clinton Prairie could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Blue Devils lost 18-4 to the Gophers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 5-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Makayla Schinlaub made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Tipton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Clinton Prairie, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Tipton will head out on the road to square off against Elwood at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Clinton Prairie, they will welcome Western Boone at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Gophers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stars have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
