St. Joseph-by-the-Sea hadn't done well against St. Peter recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings had just enough and edged the St. Peter's Eagles out 58-56. The victory was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on three straight.

St. Peter's lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Saliou Diokhane, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. Diokhane's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Malcolm Ford Jr was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

St. Joseph-by-the-Sea is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for St. Peter's, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

St. Joseph-by-the-Sea wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 80-59 win against LaSalle Academy on the 12th. As for St. Peter's, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-68 victory against Monsignor Scanlan on the 12th.
