Blue Ridge Christian extends road losing streak to 13

This season hasn't been kind to the Blue Ridge Christian Warriors, who are still winless after their seventh match. They took a 35-17 bruising from Heartland on Saturday. Blue Ridge Christian found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 12 to 5 on offense.

Despite the defeat, Blue Ridge Christian had strong showings from Risa Johnson, who scored seven points, and Reagen Peek, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 41.2% of Blue Ridge Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Esther Archibald continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Heartland, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Archibald is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Elizabeth Archibald was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.

Blue Ridge Christian's defeat was their 13th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Heartland, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue Ridge Christian will take on Shawnee Mission Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shawnee Mission Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Heartland, they will be playing at home against Plaza Heights Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Plaza Heights Christian Academy is ranked 287th, while Heartland is ranked 268th).
