Preview: Venice Indians vs. Lakewood Ranch Mustangs
Venice is 7-0 against Lakewood Ranch since October of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Venice Indians have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. One thing working in Venice's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last eight matchups.
Even though Clearwater Academy International scored an imposing 42 points on Friday, Venice still came out on top. Venice took their match against Clearwater Academy International 53-42.
Jamarice Wilder had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 177 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Jayce Barlsdale was another key contributor, picking up 125 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Lakewood Ranch was beaten by Booker 42-13 on Friday.
Venice has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 8-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points per game. As for Lakewood Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Everything came up roses for Venice against Lakewood Ranch in their previous matchup back in October of 2021 as the squad secured a 61-7 win. Will Venice repeat their success, or does Lakewood Ranch have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
