Basketball Game Preview: Sumrall Bobcats vs. Purvis Tornadoes + How To Watch

The Sumrall Bobcats will head out to challenge the Purvis Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Sumrall and West Marion had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bobcats fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 50-48 on Tuesday. Bobcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Trojans since Tuesday.

Sumrall's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kynlee Speed, who posted 14 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, and Ella Robertson, who earned 17 points and five boards. The contest was Robertson's 16th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cha'Dai Dillion, who scored five points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Purvis on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Sacred Heart out of the water with a 52-12 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tornadoes had established a 21-point advantage.

Purvis pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Sumrall, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Sumrall against Purvis when the teams last played back in February, as the squad secured a 72-33 victory. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Tornadoes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
