Volleyball Recap: Woodville Takes a Loss

Woodville lost against Bridge City back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals.

Bridge City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylee Britten, who had ten digs and four aces. That's the most digs Britten has posted over her last two contests. Another player making a difference was Presley Ducote, who had 13 assists and eight digs.

Woodville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Bridge City, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Woodville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Anderson-Shiro on the 22nd. As for Bridge City, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Huntington on the 22nd.
