Basketball Recap: Kelsi Chrisman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Florence over Wabeno/Laona + How To Watch

If Florence was feeling good fresh off their 76-35 takedown of Elcho last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bobcats fell 56-52 to the Wabeno/Laona Rebels on Tuesday. The Bobcats have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kelsi Chrisman, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Chrisman is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least five every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Miley Vandenheuvel, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards.

Wabeno/Laona's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reese Connor, who posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Lily Terry was another key player, shooting 42% from the field to rack up 11 points in addition to seven assists and four steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Florence fell to 3-1. As for Wabeno/Laona, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Florence will venture away from home to face off against North Dickinson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wabeno/Laona, they will welcome Gibraltar at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
