Mount Horeb has gone 8-2 against Reedsburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Vikings will look to defend their home field against the Beavers at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Mount Horeb's win against McFarland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings skirted past the Spartans 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.
Mount Horeb's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hallie Klein, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Reedsburg came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Golden Eagles get on the board and left with a 25-0 victory. That 25 run margin sets a new team best for the Beavers this season.
Kylee Molitor was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Haag, who scored four runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Reedsburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The win got Mount Horeb back to even at 3-3. As for Reedsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Mount Horeb has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like Reedsburg struggles in that department as they've averaged .490. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
