Volleyball Recap: Spanish River Comes Up Short

Spanish River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palmer Trinity Falcons.

Spanish River's offense was headlined by Amelie Fortinho and Eloise Baum, who picked up four kills apiece. They were helped by Luna De Oliveira and Ryland O'Neal, who contributed four assists each. Finally, Fortinho was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Palmer Trinity found their leader in sophomore Bianca Blanco, who had 19 assists.

Spanish River's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Palmer Trinity, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Spanish River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Fort Lauderdale on the 20th. As for Palmer Trinity, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against NSU University on the 20th.
