Softball Recap: Elysian Fields Has No Trouble Against Carlisle

Elysian Fields got themselves on the board against Carlisle on Tuesday, but Carlisle never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Indians. The match marked the Yellowjackets' most dominant win of the season.

Taylor Youngblood was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Madi Giddens and Julie Lowery did most of the damage at the plate: Giddens went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple, while Lowery scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Lowery a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Madi Owens, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Elysian Fields always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .760. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Elysian Fields' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-20. As for Carlisle, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-22.

Elysian Fields will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
