Volleyball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Brookline's Winning Streak

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Brookline couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newton South Lions on Friday. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 23-25, 25-14, 25-22.

Molly Tipton paced Brookline's offense, picking up 12 kills. Tipton got some help from Nora Mullen and her 24 assists. Noga Naveh and Bella Bacon kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Brookline suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 16-5. As for Newton South, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Brookline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newton South, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Franklin on the 12th.
