Basketball Game Preview: Aptos Mariners vs. King's Academy Knights

The Aptos Mariners will challenge the King's Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Aptos is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against San Domenico by a score of 67-54.

Meanwhile, King's Academy waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Vikings 68-47. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Aptos has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. King's Academy pushed their record up to 24-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Aptos took a serious blow against King's Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 62-33. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Aptos was down 34-13.
