Football Recap: Skyline Skates Past South Mountain with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Goldwater, Skyline was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 48-19 victory over the South Mountain Jaguars. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Coyotes considering their six-point performance the matchup before.

It was another big night for Caleb Wheeler, who rushed for 353 yards and three scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Claridge, who threw for 82 yards and a pair of TDs.

The win got Skyline back to even at 2-2. As for South Mountain, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Skyline will take on Browne at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for South Mountain, they will square off against Verrado at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
