Baseball Recap: Anderson County Picks Up 18th Straight Win at Home

Anderson County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Girard Indians with a sharp 13-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won 14 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Anderson County got a big performance out of Trent Strickland, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Wil Ridenour was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Anderson County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Girard only posted an OBP of .333.

Anderson County pushed their record up to 24-9 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Girard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.
