Recap: Shoals Jug Rox vs. Barr-Reeve Vikings
The Shoals Jug Rox's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 44-33 defeat to Barr-Reeve. Shoals lost against Barr-Reeve in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 63-40 score last time.
Leading Barr-Reeve to victory were Hannah Bledsoe and Ava B Carter. Bledsoe scored 14 points along with six rebounds, while B Carter scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Bledsoe's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Emma Knepp, who scored nine points.
Shoals' defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-12. As for Barr-Reeve, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Washington Catholic the next time they take the court. Shoals will host Washington Catholic at TBD on Saturday, while Barr-Reeve will head out to face them at TBD on Tuesday.
