Baseball Recap: Northwest Takes a Loss

Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 18-2 to the Portland Panthers. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2019.

Joshua Tharpe made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Portland, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest will take on Stewarts Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northwest has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Portland, they will face off against Cleveland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
