League recap: Shaker drops out of New York top 25

Section 2 Suburban - North league recap: 5/14/12

With a rough week, Shaker dropped out of the state's top 25 rankings. Shaker fell from No. 19 to No. 37 after going 2-3 over the past week. The Bison are ranked No. 1940 in the nation, and have an overal record of 13-6.

Shenendehowa used a 5-0 record over the past week to move from 80 to 36 in the New York state rankings.

Niskayuna boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. The Silver Warriors' pitchers have been charged with only 110 hits and have struck out 99 batters. Josh Callahan is tops on the staff with 25 Ks.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Callahan, who turned in five Ks for Niskayuna. With 25 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks first in the league.

The Silver Warriors' Austin Clock finished his week with seven hits, tops in Section 2 Suburban - North. His 19 hits for the year are third in the league, and he boasts a .365 batting average.
