Basketball Game Preview: Midland Legacy Rebels vs. Cooper Cougars

The Midland Legacy Rebels and the Cooper Cougars will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cooper took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Midland Legacy, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Midland Legacy turned things around against Estacado on Friday. They came out on top against the Matadors by a score of 54-45.

Meanwhile, Cooper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Stephenville 43-15. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1292nd, while the Yellow Jackets/Honeybees are ranked 547th).

Cooper's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Midland Legacy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.

Midland Legacy strolled past Cooper in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 by a score of 48-34. Will Midland Legacy repeat their success, or does Cooper have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
