Volleyball Recap: Unity Christian Triumphs

After losing to Tri-State Christian the last time they met, Unity Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Knights walked away with a 3-1 win over the Huskies on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Unity Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-16, 25-12, 25-18.

Emily Merema paced Unity Christian's offense, picking up 13 kills. Merema got some help from Maddy Wilbur and her 11 assists. Wilbur was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Unity Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Tri-State Christian, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Unity Christian will face off against Faith Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tri-State Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Galesburg Christian on the 29th.
