Football Recap: Druid Hills Comes Up Short

Druid Hills extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were outmatched by the Lithonia Bulldogs and fell 41-13. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 27-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Druid Hills still got an impressive performance from Jackson Hampton, who rushed for 63 yards and one score.

As for Lithonia, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 28 points or more this season.

Lithonia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Xavier Butler, who rushed for 109 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Albert Gooding, who rushed for 124 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Druid Hills is set to square off against their familiar foe Tucker at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lithonia will face off against rival Southwest DeKalb at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bulldogs 7.2, the Panthers 8.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
