Basketball Recap: Kaitlyn Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sparta Academy over Jackson Academy

Sparta Academy lost against Jackson Academy two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sparta Academy Warriors took a hard 44-29 fall against the Jackson Academy Eagles.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaitlyn Johnson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 19 boards. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Krisalyn Johnson was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Sparta Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Sparta Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10. As for Jackson Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Sparta Academy will face off against Fort Dale Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jackson Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
