Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Demopolis). They breezed past the Selma Saints to the tune of 47-8 on Friday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Saints are ranked 237th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jw McAlpine had an outrageously good game as he threw for 247 yards and three TDs while completing 82.4% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground.

Demopolis didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Selma to a completion percentage of just 25%. Given McAlpine's standout performance, it's clear the Saints' secondary just wasn't on the same level.

The victory got Demopolis back to even at 2-2. As for Selma, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Demopolis will be playing in front of their home fans against Aliceville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Selma, they will head out to square off against Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saints will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
