Softball Game Preview: Upper Arlington Golden Bears vs. Bishop Watterson Eagles

The Upper Arlington Golden Bears will take on the Bishop Watterson Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Upper Arlington is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Central Crossing just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Comets by a score of 7-5. Golden Bears fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Comets since Friday.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Bishop Watterson faced off against Big Walnut on Wednesday. The Eagles came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 7-1.

Bishop Watterson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlyn Scholl, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run was Scholl's first of the season.

Bishop Watterson's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Upper Arlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5.

Upper Arlington skirted past Bishop Watterson 5-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Do the Golden Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
