Basketball Recap: Plaza Heights Christian Academy vs. Overland Christian Eagle

Plaza Heights Christian Academy's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 60-49 victory over Overland Christian. Given Plaza Heights Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 215th in Missouri, while the Eagle are ranked 497th in Kansas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Plaza Heights Christian Academy was led to victory by Remi Schieber and Luke Jones. Schieber scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Jones scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Jones hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Taylor, who scored seven points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Plaza Heights Christian Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Overland Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
