Baseball Recap: Chestnut Ridge Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Chestnut Ridge not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28th (when they won 13-0). Everything went their way against the Bishop Carroll Huskies as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Chestnut Ridge got a big performance out of Haydan Webb, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was Webb's first of the season. Brody Halkovich was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Chestnut Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Chestnut Ridge pushed their record up to 8-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Bishop Carroll, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.

Chestnut Ridge will head out to take on Hollidaysburg at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bishop Carroll, they will welcome Bedford at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bisons have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
