Baseball Game Preview: Central Hinds Academy Cougars vs. Independence Wildcats

The Central Hinds Academy Cougars will square off against the Independence Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither Central Hinds Academy nor Independence posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Central Hinds Academy's offense. They fell 4-0 to Park Place Christian Academy last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Independence unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against West Union, falling 13-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Central Hinds Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Central Hinds Academy got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Independence by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
