Soccer Game Preview: Woodgrove vs. Broad Run

The Woodgrove Wolverines will take on the Broad Run Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Woodgrove's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Broad Run has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Woodgrove is headed into the contest having not lost since April 1 and will look to keep things rolling. They and Loudoun Valley finished up their matchup with a 0-0 draw on Friday. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Woodgrove have been dealt a draw since back in April.

Meanwhile, Broad Run fell victim to Loudoun County and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Captains. While losing is never fun, Broad Run can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Loudoun County are ranked 71st).

Broad Run's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-1. With that draw, Woodgrove's record moves to 8-2-2.

Woodgrove came out on top in a nail-biter against Broad Run in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
