Two schools led by a pair of MaxPreps All-Americans led high school girls basketball in total points and highest scoring average during the 2024-25 season.
Behind MaxPreps National Player of the Year
Aaliyah Chavez,
Monterey (Lubbock, Texas) led the nation in total points scored with 3,151 during a 37-5 season that included a Class 5A Division II state championship.
Monterey was one of just two teams with over 3,000 points during the season.
Fairview (Grant, La.) scored 3,096 points while winning the Louisiana Class B state title.
Providence Academy (Plymouth, Minn.) led the nation in scoring average at 89.3 points per game. Led by MaxPreps Junior All-American and Minnesota state player of the year
Maddyn Greenway, the Lions scored over 100 points six times and were held under 70 points just once.
Kelliher/Northome (Northome, Minn.) at 86.5 and
Crosby-Ironton (Crosby, Minn.) at 84.5 were the only other schools to average over 81 points per game. Minnesota plays 18-minute halves, giving a player 36 minutes during a regulation game instead of the traditional 32.

Etiwanda combined with
Rancho Christian (Temecula) for the highest-scoring game of the year at 186 points, 109-77.
Fort Bend Willowridge (Houston, Texas) scored the most points in a game with 125 in a 117-point win over Harmony School of Innovation.
Three schools had an average margin of victory of 50 or more points in a game, led by
Mesquite (Gilbert, Ariz.) at 51.2 points per game. Meanwhile
Military Magnet Academy (North Charleston, S.C.) had the most 100-point games with eight.
