Basketball Game Preview: Northside Methodist Academy Knights vs. Poplar Springs Atomics

The Northside Methodist Academy Knights and the Poplar Springs Atomics will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Northside Methodist Academy and three for Poplar Springs.

Last Friday, Northside Methodist Academy was beaten by Providence Christian 69-27. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Eagles are ranked 83rd).

Meanwhile, Poplar Springs fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Ponce De Leon on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates.

Northside Methodist Academy's record is now 3-9. As for Poplar Springs, their record is now 2-6.
