Football Recap: Vincent Memorial Takes a Loss

Vincent Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 20-14 heartbreaker at the hands of the Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets. The Scots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Christian Richards was a one-man wrecking crew For Palo Verde Valley. as he rushed for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 111 rushing yards gave Richards a new career-high.

Vincent Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Palo Verde Valley, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Vincent Memorial will square off against Southwest EC at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Scots will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.14 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Palo Verde Valley, they will face off against Calipatria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellow Jackets will need to watch out since the Hornets have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games.
