Soccer Game Preview: Lambert vs. Walton

The Lambert Longhorns will face off against the Walton Raiders on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lambert comes in on three and Walton on six.

Lambert is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Mill Creek a 1-0 shutout. Give Lambert's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Walton faced Harrison in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Raiders skirted past the Hoyas 1-0.

Walton's victory bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Lambert, their win bumped their record up to 17-2.

Lambert skirted past Walton 1-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
