Basketball Recap: St. Augustine Comes Up Short

St. Augustine lost against Creekside back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The St. Augustine Yellow Jackets took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Creekside Knights.

Creekside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nolan Nelson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Nelson is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nolan Soehlig, who made all 5 shots he took to post 13 points.

St. Augustine's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Creekside, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-7.

St. Augustine didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-54 loss against Oakleaf on the 23rd. Creekside has also already played their next match, a 59-56 win against Tocoi Creek on the 23rd.
