Basketball Game Preview: Sierra Timberwolves vs. Patterson Tigers

The Sierra Timberwolves will square off against the Patterson Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Sierra saw some tournament action last Saturday. They took a 63-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bear Creek. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 916th, while the Bruins are ranked 320th).

Meanwhile, Patterson suffered their biggest loss since December 7th on Saturday. They came up short against West Park, falling 62-37.

Sierra has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Patterson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
