Basketball Game Preview: Dexter Bearcats vs. Puxico Indians

The Dexter Bearcats will take on the Puxico Indians in a tournament on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Dexter is headed into the match having just posted their biggest win since December 26, 2024 on Monday. They put the hurt on Richland with a sharp 66-42 victory.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dexter to victory, but perhaps none more so than John Sepulvado, who posted 20 points. Elijah Ibrahim was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Meanwhile, Puxico entered their tilt with Advance on Monday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They breezed by the Hornets to the tune of 74-39. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 23 points or more this season.

Puxico's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.4 points. As for Dexter, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Dexter came up short against Puxico in their previous matchup on Tuesday, falling 53-43. Can Dexter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
