Baseball Game Preview: Maysville Wolverines vs. St. Joseph Christian Lions

Maysville has won five straight games at home, while St. Joseph Christian has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Wolverines will host the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Maysville made easy work of Tarkio and carried off a 9-3 win. Considering the Wolverines have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when St. Joseph Christian duked it out with Polo on Wednesday. The Lions came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 6-1. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly five runs.

St. Joseph Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Maysville, their win bumped their record up to 23-5.

Maysville came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Joseph Christian in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 7-6. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
