Football Recap: Izzie Deiter and Alexa Avila Secure Win for Torrey Pines

Torrey Pines's tournament run continued when they took on Marshall on Friday. The Falcons walked away with a 14-6 win over the Barristers. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Barristers are ranked 137th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Torrey Pines to victory were Alexa Avila and Izzie Deiter. Avila gained 109 total yards, while Deiter threw for 192 yards and one TD.

Torrey Pines' defense stepped up as well, laying out Jaylin Macias. three times. Lila Wagner was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks herself.

Torrey Pines' record now sits at 3-1. As for Marshall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
