It's playoff time, and Shawnee Mission Northwest had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 63-55 win over the Maize Eagles on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won 11 matches in a row.

Maize's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alec Grill, who went 9-for-12 on his way to 22 points. The dominant performance also gave Grill a new career-high in shooting accuracy (75%). Another player making a difference was Brayden Myovela, who shot 56% from the field en route to 13 points and six boards.

Shawnee Mission Northwest's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Maize, they moved to 17-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
